An integral part of Enterprise Governance, it consists of the leadership and organizational structures and processes which ensure that the organization's IT sustains and extends its strategy and objectives.
Enterprise Governance
Set of responsibilities and practices exercised by the board and executive management with the goal of providing strategic direction, ensuring that objectives are achieved, ascertaining that risks are managed appropriately and verifying that the organization's resources are used responsibly.
COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology)
COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and related Technology) is the IT Governance model developed by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and the IT Governance Institute (ITGI). Regardless of the technological reality of each particular case, COBIT determines, supported by international technical standards, a set of best practices for IT security, quality, effectiveness and efficiency, necessary to align the IT with the business, identify risks, deliver business value, manage resources and measure performance, goal achievement and maturity level of the organization's processes.
