Workshop on Improving Government Management - Lima, Peru Print
In order to share success cases of the implementation of the National Comptroller's Office regulation #320-2006-CG (aimed at bolstering Internal Control Systems based on COSO) and the Comptroller's Office resolution #458-2008-CG that establishes a Guide for Implementing Internal Control Systems, the prestigious Peruvian company SOFTWARE & CONSULTING and the Uruguayan company DATASEC held a workshop on Improving Government Management as a Commitment of the Senior Board.
This workshop addressed the possible courses of action and the application of the Governance concepts to Government Management in order to meet the deadlines set forth by the mentioned regulations on October 2009.

The workshop was attended by senior civil servants from Government bodies, such as CEOs, Internal Control Managers and Department Managers.
The workshop speakers included: Ms. Erika Pacheco, CEO of Software & Consulting S.A.C.; Genaro Matute, PhD, ESAN University Chairman and former State Comptroller; Mr. Carlos Serra, CPA, Project Manager for DATASEC's Latin American projects; and Mr. Salvador Medina, Manager of the Quality & Risk Management Unit of the Peruvian Social Security Regulation Office (ONP).
The remarkable seminar Corporate Governance: Governance & Internal Control was delivered by Genaro Matute, PhD, and the Successful ONP Experience seminar was delivered by Mr. Salvador Medina. After the workshop attendees and panelists mingled at the cocktail reception that followed in the "Sea Room" at the JW Marriott Hotel in Lima.
